On January 26th, 2014 we participated in a colourful mawlid celebration in Paris involving the whole community, young and old, with representatives from a diverse range of sufi tariqas. Many families attended with children and the hall was so packed that there were even people seated on carpets on the stage. In our concert which opened the event we joined up with newly formed ladies choral group “Nooran” led by the Algerian Oud player and singer Amina Berraghda. This was followed by sessions of chanting by members of each of the different Tariqas. Among the distinguished guests present was Sidi Wahid Guenon the son of the well known writer René Guenon (RahimahuAllah).
